  1. My name is Samuel Breen. I work freelance in the media and parttime for a charity. I write a column, Off Kilter, in Clash Magazine and I’m an editor at VoxPop (France). I started a column at Vice.com, Tales From Backwater Britain, but I’ve had to rest for a bit. I occasionally write for Artrocker, FACT, The Quietus, and The Reykjavik Grapevine (Is). I have written for Article, Bearded, City Life (Manchester Evening News), Dazed & Confused, Drowned In Sound, and The Guardian. I edited the music section of my student paper (Steel Press, Sheffield) which is where I learned to spell and how to self-deprecate.

Outside of writing I coordinate music projects for Oxfam. This includes brand awareness, event management and promotion, training retail staff in music products and consulting promotional teams. I’m also part of PopDeviant with Simon, Lauren and John. We publish zines on music and living in Manchester. We DJ at Deaf Institute every Monday

I have a working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Quark, an expanding knowledge of Dreamweaver and SketchUp, and a superb understanding of Office (especially MS Paint).

If you would like to send me some music that’s fine. I try to listen to everything I get sent. 320k streams are preferable as I travel a lot, I also like to be kind to my postman. If you insist on physical promo then bung me an email and I’ll send you my postal address.
